Naranj Arabic Restaurant Kuwait

It was a fine Thursday morning when me and my friends headed out for a traditional Arabic breakfast treat. The restaurant of choice is a Syrian Restaurant called Naranj. It is located next to the Olympia Mall in Salmiya right across the Scientific Center. Naranj is a Sanskrit word that means an "orange tree" that is abundant in the Levant region.

As we got in I was instantly  amazed by its rustic yet elegant interiors. With draperies of classic Moroccan inspired fabric adorning the ceiling, arabesque tiles and patterns in the walls and floors and a water fountain situated in the middle of the dining hall that  contributes to its overall classic oriental atmosphere.
The food offerings is a straight forward Arabic spread ranging from hot and cold mezzes. There is foul madammes - a fava bean stew cooked in tomato and olive oil with Arabic spice blends, chickpeas in labneh, mutabbal, baba ghanooj and  more aubergine based dishes.
The salad selections looked so fresh that you can't help yourself to dig for more. They also have great tasting falafels, kebbeh potato and fatayers as well. For egg lovers, they have an omelette station where you can request any omelette of yiur choice and they also serve boiled eggs as well.

If you are a vegan, you would certainly enjoy their food selections since they barely serve any meat items except for the sausage dish cooked with onions and peppers. Overall, Naranj is the perfect place to enjoy pan oriental food with dishes alive with color, texture and superb flavor.
